Dr. Kreutz is a medical specialist for orthopedics, trauma surgery, sports medicine, and manual medicine.
President of the “Deutsch-Österreichischen Gesellschaft für stabilisierende Verfahren am Bewegungsorgan (DSVB)”
Dr. Kreutz, a former competitive swimmer himself, has become the sports medicine consultant to the Team Abu Dhabi Triathlon. In addition he uses his new “MedicalFitting” concept to detect, evaluate, and reduce the internal resistances of the team members. MedicalFitting is more than a performance testing of the musculoskeletal system, it boosts performance based on the principle of “better performance through better health” by enabling athletes to move without restrictions again. Every aspect of triathlon requires specific movement patterns to be carried out, be it the high elbow in freestyle swimming, the aero position on the bike or the exact hip rotation during running. But athletes are often incapable of performing these movements without tension because of restrictions in the joints. This inevitably leads to “friction losses” and compensatory movements shifted to weaker structures. It prevents athletes from further improving their technique, and it is the ONE major cause of stress-related injuries.
From a medical prevention point of view, MedicalFitting helps reduce resistances in joints and prevents compensatory movements that lead to injuries in muscles, tendons and ligaments. Therefore, this positive effect will last well beyond our athletes' professional career allowing them to enjoy sports activities even afterwards.
