Faris Al-Sultan
Since 1999, Faris has competed every year except two on the Big Island. He worked his way continuously up, year by year, until he won the race in 2005. The last two years he had some health problems, which made things difficult. The last months he worked a lot on these problems, and he sorted most of the things out. The training in the last weeks worked really well and together with the highlight on the material sector, his new Storck bike Aero 2, things look really good for a great race in Kona. His goal is to place at least in the top 10.
Andrea Steinbecher
Andrea looks forward to her 3rd start at the Ironman on Hawaii. After the year 2005 and 2007, she will carry for the first time the logo of Team Abu Dhabi Triathlon on the pier of Kona. In the last week, Andrea focused on the running, and she will try to use this strength next Saturday. Her goal is to finish in the top 15 pro women.
Swen Sundberg
The Ironman World Championship in Hawaii is the third long distance race for Swen within a few weeks. At the Challenge Triathlon in Roth, Germany, and at Ironman Kentucky, USA, he reached 8th and 4th places. He recovered well from these races. The training in Santa Barbara went according to plan, and he knows what to expect at the race in Hawaii. He also raced four times at the Ironman World Championship.
