After Andi had to make a training- and racing-break in summer because of an injury, Canada was his first Ironman race this year. It was not his goal to qualify for Hawaii, but he wanted to get close to his big wish to win an Ironman race once.
In Penticton Andi showed that he is ready for that in swimming and cycling. He left the lake on place 2 and after a few kilometres on the bike he took over the lead. That worked quite well for 140 kilometres. But then he had problems with his energy. He could finish the bike stage on the second position but he had a really tough run. In the end he was happy to finish the race on the 6th place.
