In Phuket there was the battle about the Asian-Pacific championship titles. According to this the pro athletes field was pretty strong. Faris had a good swim and came out of the water at the end of the first group. Paul was just seconds behind him. On the bike Faris had his problems. It was not his day but also the conditions were pretty dangerous. It rained and was quite slippery. Some of the athletes had some experiences with dogs which ran onto the racecourse. They caused some crashes. Luckily our athletes were not involved. Paul had an awesome day on the bike. With the second fastest split of the day he entered T2 as the leading male. A solid run brought him place 7. The time Faris lost on the bike was gone. In the end he reached the 13th place. The athlete of the day was the German Michael Raelert who had a lonely day on the run and took the title.
Kristin came to Australia with big goals. But it did not work as expected. She lost time on the first 2 disciplines. But she still hoped to run as she did before. In the marathon she fought also against her tired legs. So the 11th place was the best she could reach.
