The season accelerates (27.04.2010)

Five team members will race on the upcoming weekend. Swen has the biggest challenge as he will compete at Ironman St. George in Utah.

On the upcoming weekend there will be action within Team Abu Dhabi Triathlon.

Those who will open the activities will be Faris and Ina at the “Days of Truth” in the Austrian Graz. That is an Olympic triathlon, which is splited into 3 days. That means: Friday 1,5 K swimming – Saturday 40 K time trial on the bike – Sunday 10 K running on the track. This format allows Faris to race despite his injury. He will swim and cycle. On the run he will be replaced by team manger Werner Leitner. Ina will do all disciplines.

Swen will be on the starting line of his frist Ironman race of this year in St. George/Utah on Saturday. And that is a really tough one. He will be awaited by a water temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, by an altitude differences of 2500 meter on the bike and another 1000 meter on the run. The main goal for Swen will be the qualification for the Ironman World Championships on Hawaii.

Andi Böcherer and youngster Jan van Berkel will do another exciting race format in Steffurt/Switzerland. On Sunday the athletes have to get over 200 m swimming, 8 K cycling and 1,4 K  running. But that has to be done 3 times in a row without any breaks. That will make the race especially fascinating and attractive.
