For Kristin Möller it will be the first participation in Australian Busselton. After her two successes in Great Britain she has good chances to run again the fastest marathon split and reach a top result. Though she usually likes hilly courses which she will not find in that area. But in the last weeks and months she worked a lot in the water and she hopes that this will already pay off in Australia. She wants to bring as much Kona Pro Ranking points home as possible. But that is nothing really surprisingly as many of the pros have the same intention. Especially in the woman’s category many of those points are necessary to qualify for Hawaii. And that is the place Kristin would like to go next October.
Some 1000 km north the Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championships will take place in the beautiful location of Phuket. Faris Al-Sultan and Paul Ambrose will face a strong field of pro athletes. After a break and a few weeks of training Faris will start into the new season pretty early and he will try to keep up with Raelert, Lieto and Co. On the other side Paul is recovered from some health problems which let him drop out at the recent 70.3 races in Australia. He would like to continue his success he had in that series earlier in the year.
