That was the Abu Dhabi Triathlon Team Training Camp (24.03.2011)

2011 Abu Dhabi Triathlon Team organized a training camp for the second time in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Faris Al-Sultan presented his winter training destination to almost 80 enthusiastic athletes.

A one-week and a two-week camp were offered in which the athletes trained for most of the time in the desert oasis Al Ain. 2 days before the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon they travelled to the race venue which was not a big effort as the distance was just 150 km.

Faris Al-Sultan planned the training program together with his guides who looked after the participants. Focus of the spring training camp was cycling which everyone enjoyed under 30 degrees Celsius and almost every day sunny weather. But also athletic training, run and swim workouts were not missed out. For the last one Christof Wandratsch, a successful long distance swim specialist was at the pool. He also worked as a cameraman to have material for video analysis.

Of course training was the focus but beside that there was an opportunity to see the highlights of the United Arab Emirates. On the rest day a trip to Dubai was offered. Many of the participants took part. And at the end of the camp the athletes could explore the city of Abu Dhabi as part of the triathlon weekend. All of them race in one of the 3 different distances. We want to congratulate all for their great performance!

We hope that all of the participants enjoyed Abu Dhabi and we hope to see some of them again.
