Swen had to cancel most of his races along this year. A long lasting back injury forced him to stop racing during summer. On Sunday Swen will be recovered and well prepared on the start line of Ironman Cozumel. On the tiny island, which is close to Cancun, he will not have to do a lot of climbing. Though it will not be easy. All athletes will experience wind, heat and humidity. Swen’s main opponents will come from Switzerland, Mathias Hecht, from the United States, Patrick Evoe, and from his home country, Stephan Vuckovic. But Swen is ready for the challenge. His preparation in Abu Dhabi worked pretty well and in the meantime he is acclimatised to the conditions on Cozumel. His goal for next year is to get a slot for the world championships on Hawaii. On Sunday he would like to do the first big step towards Kona.
