Second PanAm Cup Victory! (10.04.2011)

It is pretty tough to races one weekend after the other. After Jan van Berkel won the race in Lima, Peru, he had to focus to recover fast as the next triathlon in Mazatlan, Mexico, was just 6 days and a flight of 8,5 hours ahead.

The swim in Mexico was a wavy one. Jan came out of the water in the second group and had to chase the leaders. With the other athletes he reached the first group but he still kept the pace. He did not want the guys behind him to reach the leading group too. On the run he used the same strategy as in Lima. He pushed as hard as he could from the beginning on. After 2 km no other athletes were around him and he could go for the second victory within one week!
