Many News in 2011! (24.01.2011)

Abu Dhabi Triathlon Team starts with new motivation and some changes into the new year. Especially among our athletes there will be seen some new faces. Andi Böcherer and Pete Jacobs will go separate ways. Kristin Möller from Fürth, Germany, and Paul Ambrose, the Brit who lives in Sydney, will wear the team suit.

The 26-year old Kristin Möller is the first one who will strengthen Abu Dhabi Triathlon Team in 2011.  Her triathlon career has only just begun, yet she has already achieved some great results. In 2010 Kristin was European Vice-Champion over the Ironman 70.3 distance and came in 2nd at her first Ironman in Wisconsin, USA. With her track and field background she is one of the fastest runners in the Ironman circuit. Her teammates have already got a taste of her competitive spirit in last year’s Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge, which is also where Kristin will first be seen first in Abu Dhabi team colors. On March 12th she can be seen on the triathlon race course in Abu Dhabi. Her big highlight of this season will be the Ironman World Championship on Hawaii. An important step in that direction will be the participation at Ironman Germany in July.

The second new team athlete, Paul Ambrose, is just a few months younger than Kristin. The native-born Brit has switched his residence to Syndey, Australia. Paul’s strength is swimming. But also in all other disciplines he can keep up with the elite in the sport, which he proved at his first Ironman victory last year at Ironman Kentucky. His list of good results is long. He loves to race. Paul’s first race in our team suit will also be that of Abu Dhabi in spring. Furthermore, he will fight for qualification points at Ironman Texas and further Ironman 70.3 races in the US in order to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in October.
