Hamburg, Racine and Ingolstadt (14.07.2011)

The upcoming weekend will be again one with a lot of action. Jan van Berkel is the first one who will race at the ITU World Championship Series in Hamburg. Paul Ambrose and Faris Al-Sultan follow on Sunday in Racine and in Ingolstadt.

Jan will come directly from his high altitude training camp and he will try to use the positive effects to fly through Hamburg. Not just only Jan but also all the other athletes look forward to that great event in the centre of the Hanseatic city. On Saturday afternoon the starting shot will be given on the Jungfernstieg under the applause of countless spectators. The athletes will fight for the best result in the Alster and on the multiple loops of the bike and run course. Hamburg will be a very important race for Jan’s Olympic qualification.

After Paul was beaten just by seconds in Rhode Island he will try it again – this time in Racine which is in the US state Wisconsin. He has good chances to reach a top result. Everything depends how well he could recover from last week’s race.

Faris last competition before Ironman Germany will be the triathlon in Ingolstadt. After tough training weeks he did his first week of recovery. In the Bavarian city he will start as titleholder. He will do everything to bring the victory back home. But that is nothing new.
