From Abu Dhabi directly to Singapore (18.03.2011)

Faris Al-Sultan is going to chase the important point for the Hawaii qualification at Ironman 70.3 Singapore. There he faces a first-class competitor’s field.

Just a week after the tough race in Abu Dhabi, where Faris got 8th, another important race is on his schedule. On Wednesday Faris flight left from Abu Dhabi to Singapore. There he wants to fight for the victory and for some point for the Hawaii qualification. But that will not be easy as there will be some strong athletes on the starting line. His former team mate Pete Jacobs and the fast runner James Cunnama will give him a hard time. The participation of World Cup athlete Kris Gemmell will also be interesting.

The conditions in Singapore are humid and gray as the sun can hardly be seen. These were Faris first impressions. A photo shooting for the magazine FHM was so a welcome diversion for him. Tough he is not yet fully recovered. He misses the relaxing massages of team physiotherapist Katharina he enjoyed in Abu Dhabi. Still he is confident and the goal for Sunday is the podium!
