Faris Al-Sultan’s performance is improving rapidly (13.06.2010)

Superior victory at Ingolstadt’s triathlon with more than 8 minutes ahead

Today Faris competed at the Olympic triathlon in Ingolstadt to improve his race hardness. And it worked pretty well. But just one after the other.

Just minutes before the race the organizer decided to have a non-wetsuit swim because the water temperature was quite high. That was good especially for the strong swimmers like Faris. Already at the first discipline he could distance his strongest opponents. Despite Faris was more than 4 minutes ahead he felt that the “last liveliness is still missing”. But the story went one. Also on the bike the Team Abu Dhabi Triathlon athlete pushed hard and the gap grow up to 7 minutes. With a head start like that it was hard for him to motivate himself on the run but he could still run the fastest split and won. Faris could celebrate his victory more than 8 minutes before the second on, Christian Brader, crossed the finish line.

Faris was absolutely happy with the race and he looks forward to the upcoming events. Next weekend he and Ina Reinders will race Ironman 70.3 UK.
