Departure (30.09.2011)

The team training camp in Tucson, Arizona, is over and Rachel’s and Faris’s next stop will be Hawaii. Swen is already at the east coast of the US.

Tucson was another try of Faris to find the perfect destination for the Hawaii preparation. It was a good choise. Training and weather condition were almost perfect. But if that will be the place of future pre Hawaii camps will be seen next year. Probably Fairs just looks for cause to explore a new place every year.

Arizona worked also well trainingwise. Rachel and Faris could do their training as planed and both of them are happy with their shape. The last days before the big event in Kona are usually for all athletes the time for recovery. Though it is a pretty tough time for some of the pros as they have a lot of appointments. But that is also part of their job.

Swen will not be part of all that. He was Faris training buddy but now he left to travel to the east coast. He will do 2 middle distance races. The first one will be Ironman 70.3 Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania on Sunday. Swen will face a big field of pro athletes like the Belgium Bert Aernouts and the American Patrick Evoe. Aernouts won already two 70.3 races in 2011.
