Jan trained in Thailand together with the Dutch team and he prepared for the final of the WCS tour. Under heat and humidity the training was tough. But Jan hopes that that will help him in Beijing. As always Jan can win or loose everything in the water. If it works well Jan could reach a great result on the hilly bike and run course which should be an advantage for him.
Paul and Swen will also sweat at Lake Las Vegas. The desert conditions will not be the only enemies for them. The athletic field will be a really strong one even if the German titleholder Andreas Raelert will not race because of an injury. Paul has the potential to be under the top athletes. He has won one of the 70.3 races this season. Swen is back after an injury. His goal is to increase his performance from race to race.
After her victory at Ironman UK Kristin had to decide if she would try to use a tiny chance to qualify for the Ironman World Championships on Hawaii. That would have taken a lot of power out of her body. So her decision was to wait for another year and to concentrate on other races. The qualification period for Hawaii 2012 already started on September 1st. And the first race she will try will be Ironman Wales. That will be again a race with hills and cold weather. Kristin prefers both!
