2nd Abu Dhabi International Triathlon can come (11.03.2011)

Abu Dhabi Triathlon Team prepared well for the challenge in the capital. They enjoyed the perfect conditions in Al Ain for 3 weeks.

From February 19th the entire team trained together in the oasis city Al Ain which is 150 km south of Abu Dhabi city. The athletes were supported by physiotherapist Katharina Ringer. So they could focus just on their main task – the training. Jan van Berkel was the only one who joined the team later.

The conditions for Faris, Swen, Paul, Rachel and Kristin could not been better. Perfect temperature around 25 degrees, good roads with less traffic, a 33-meter pool and different running loops were responsible that the training program could be exactly fulfilled.

But they had also fun. A swim competition between Rachel and Swen was one of the multiple happenings. All athletes of the team grew together and Kristin Moeller and Paul Ambrose were perfectly integrated.

As highlight at the end of that camp there is the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon. Of course it is something very special for the team and a home game for Faris as none of the other pro athletes have spent more time in that area as Al-Sultan.

Rachel, Kristin, Faris, Paul, Swen and Christof look forward to stand at the start line of the long distance (3/200/10) in front of the Emirates Palace on Saturday. All of the athletes can reach a top result. Christof Wandratsch will especially fight for the fastest swim split of the day. Jan van Berkel will try again to win the short distance.
